We hired Hudson Valley Outdoor Living to build a composite deck for one of our projects, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Communication was clear, they showed up when they said they would, and the quality of the craftsmanship really stood out. The framing was solid, everything was built with attention to detail, and the finished deck looks fantastic. They kept the job site organized and made the entire process easy. As someone who works in the construction industry I pay attention to the details! and it’s obvious that Chris and Steve take pride in doing things the right way instead of taking shortcuts. If you’re looking for a deck builder in the Hudson Valley who is knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about the finished product, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hudson Valley Outdoor Living. I’d gladly work with them again on future projects.

I hired Chris and Stephen to install a Trex deck, and it has been a very upsetting experience to say the least. The deck was installed improperly, and after reviewing the installation, Trex determined that it did not meet their installation guidelines and considered it non-warrantable. Instead of standing behind their work and correcting the problems, Chris and Stephen were largely unresponsive to my repeated attempts to have the issues addressed. Despite numerous requests, they refused to correct the installation. I had three other contractors inspect the deck to determine what would be required to correct it. All three told me the installation was unacceptable by their standards, extremely sloppy, and would need significant repairs to be done properly. Now I have to pay other contractors to fix the work they did if I want it properly installed. The workmanship included deck boards that were not flush, some boards bowing, and many were not fastened properly. I actually had to correct some of the installation myself because of loose and improperly secured boards. No homeowner should have to repair a brand-new deck after paying for professional installation. Because Chris and Stephen would not resolve the problems, I filed a small claims case and was awarded judgment in my favor. After they failed to satisfy the judgment, I filed it with the County Clerk. As of the date of this review, the judgment remains unpaid and is publicly available through the County Clerk's records. If you're considering hiring them, I strongly recommend having any work they perform inspected independently and ensuring it complies with the manufacturer's installation requirements before making final payment. I can’t express enough the disappointment and headache this whole experience has been.

Chris and his crew did a fantastic job on my new deck . They were professional and worked diligently to finish the job in the time requested . The deck is beautiful and I highly recommend him to anyone . Love love my deck ! Thanks Chris and Steve !

Our experience with Chris and his team was professional, courteous, and customer centered. Throughout the deck build, they asked questions about our opinions on specifics of the project so we got exactly what we wanted while also offering suggestions from their wealth of experience from building similar decks in the past. They were friendly to our entire family and our home looks completely updated because of the beautiful deck they built!

Had a lovely conversation this morning with Steve regarding replacing my existing deck with composite. He was very honest, thorough and professional. I don't feel the need to go anywhere else.
