Troy's Garden Nurseries

Welcoming staff and beautiful selection

Troy’s Nurseries in Bedford did such a wonderful job with their Fall Festival this weekend! It was the perfect fall outing and such a fun, family-friendly event. They had pumpkin painting, face painting, an adorable petting zoo, and plenty for the kids to enjoy. The nursery itself looked absolutely beautiful. The selection of fall plants, mums, pumpkins and seasonal décor was incredible — pumpkins in every shape, size and color you could imagine! You could easily spend forever walking around and getting ideas for decorating your home for fall. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, you walk into the store and see their gorgeous Christmas display! It’s beautifully done and definitely gets you excited for the holiday season. Such a lovely local place and a great way to spend a fall day with the family. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

They abuse their animals. The poor rabbits, ducks, etc. were stuck outside in the rain today (and it rained all day) without any shelter. They should be ashamed and also have the animals taken away from them!

We hired Troy's last year to develop our small front garden. It was an expensive project, but we enjoyed the process and the initial result. They did have to come back to fix some plants that hadn't been planted properly and had exposed roots. Unfortunately, a lot of the perennials didn't come back this year. Most noticeably, 11 of the 12 grasses, which were a main feature of one bed, didn't return (photos). We lost a few other plants here and there too. Some loss is expected, but it adds up at around $30 a plant. We reached out to the team for advice on the plants that didn't survive but never heard back. Given that almost all the grasses were lost, we would have appreciated at least some of them being replaced, or even just a response. Communication was a little difficult throughout. A smaller note: a few unexpected plants (lupine and goldenrod) came up this year. The bed had been bare for a year before installation, so we suspect they came in with the soil. Overall, we enjoyed working through the project with them, but were disappointed by the plant survival and follow-up.
